Dr. Ganguly has more than 15 years of rich experience in leading scientific & techno-strategic research in the area of Clean Energy & Climate Change Technology and Financing. He has a Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering and Post-graduation and Doctoral in Energy Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. He is also a certified Energy Auditor and Six-Sigma Black Belt in Process Optimization.
He has worked as an “Energy Manager” with corporate project team of Samtel Group of Companies was responsible for conceptualization, designing and deployment of various Energy Utilities, Energy Conservation, and Process Modification Projects. He was also involved in developing “Energy strategy” for the Group during year 2003 to 2006. He was also acting as one of the key member of corporate energy conservation team, youngest member of Business strategy group and Annual Business planning group.
As Director Energy (Technology) and as Head Energy (Technology) in Confederation of Indian Industry, New Delhi he had initiated and led the entire space of techno-strategic research Clean Energy/ Energy Efficiency/ Climate Change related projects in Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) closely with various Ministries of GoI – MoP, MNRE, MoP&NG, MoEF, MoD and prominent industries like Indian Oil Corporation, ExxonMobil, Shell, DuPont, Cisco, IBM, etc.
He was the Principal Project Investigator of various techno-strategic initiatives of Defense Research Development Organization (DRDO), GoI on National Mission on Clean Coal Technologies (NMCCT) and separately for Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, USDoE, under Indo-US Bilateral Energy Dialoguein the area of energy efficiency in ICT sector.
He is also a permanent technical member of the Committees on Gasification Research and separately Hydrogen Development of Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE).
