Mr. JAI UPPAL

Mr. Jai Uppal is a reputed & well-known professional and an independent senior consultant with specialization and experience in India and abroad in Green Energy, (Renewable Energy; Energy Efficiency, Climate Change etc). He is also a well-known expert in the area of Biofuels and Bioenergy. He was the former Director General, Indian Federation of Green Energy, Former Secretary General, Samyak Vikas Sanstha (NGO), Sr. Advisor to many organizations including Center for Alternate Energy Research (CAER), Winrock International India (International NGO), Member of Expert Panel/committee on Alternate Fuels of Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India etc.

In his professional & multifarious career spanning more than 45 years, he has carried out many assignments & projects in India and abroad including Government Ministries & related organizations, International Development Agencies & Banks, many reputed private Companies, Consultancy Companies, NGOs etc. He has taught courses and has written a large number of articles and has been invited to make presentations on Green & Renewable Energy, Environment, Sustainability in India and abroad.

Mr. Uppal has been conferred with the distinguished Alumni Award by Indian Institute of Technology, BHU. He is a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers; Past Chairman of Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers (NRC); Life member of: Solar Energy Society of India etc. He completed his Bachelors in Chemical Engineering from IIT BHU (1970) and Masters from University of Michigan, USA (1971), where he received fellowship/scholarships and also carried out research as a Research Fellow/Research Assistant.
